##  Morocco Steps Up Beach Water Safety Monitoring with Record Checks 

**Coastal tourism and environmental standards drive increased testing.**

Energy Transition Minister Leila Benali announced in a parliamentary response that Morocco will be monitoring water quality at a record 203 beaches in 2025, up from 196 last year. This expansion of the program is part of national efforts to align with international environmental standards and bolster coastal tourism.  

The initiative is governed by Law 81-12 on coastal management, which mandates periodic water testing [....].
